Getting
"Unstuck"

It can feel like we are "stuck" on autopilot causing many areas of our life to feel unsatisfying, stressful, or overwhelming -a sense of burnout. I help people get "unstuck" from the symptoms of stress that they have been trying to manage (panic, anxiety, relationship issues, reactivity, body pain). Therapy can help restore an inner calm and can help you come back to yourself.

2.

Somatic Therapy

As a specialist in somatic therapy, I help clients address traumatic stress reactions by guiding the release of held tension and activation in the body through talk therapy.

When our body and mind both feel more at ease, symptoms such as anxiety, headaches, GI issues, impulsivity, pain, etc., can start to change. Then we are better able to manage our responsibilities, our relationships, and recover from setbacks easier.

3.

Relationship Improvement

Individual therapy can be an important step in improving the necessary relationships in your life. Learning about how to work with your own natural attachment style is a first step to increasing comfort in relationships. Skills, such as implementing appropriate boundaries, reducing reactivity, communicating better, and deepening your understanding and allegiance to your own needs and values, help improve our relationships.

4.

Individual
Psychotherapy

I offer individual psychotherapy services for adults to address a range of mental health concerns, such as ADHD, OCD, GAD, and PTSD. Through a collaborative and supportive approach, therapy sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs, interests, and goals of each client.

Therapy can also be beneficial if the goal is to optimize how you move through the world and enhance your ability to create and enjoy.

Why Therapy?
Anchor 1
Approach & Specializations

My approach integrates multiple therapy styles:

All of my skills sit on a solid understanding of attachment and development.

In session, I focus on the comfort of my client's nervous system. Therapy is meant to be comfortable, gently productive, and effective in each session.

Please reach out to me, if you would like to work on a specific issue or if you would like to work on that pervasive feeling  of"stuckness" or if you simply want to try a somatic approach to therapy.

About me

I bring warmth and humour to therapy. I am not a silent, nodding therapist; instead, I engage kindly, directly, and candidly. I hope my clients feel engaged and eager to participate. You can expect me to be casualskilled, and effective.

I enjoy creating a confidential, positive, and ethical environment, in which you get to be comfortable and at ease as we find the path for reducing symptoms of stress and trauma.

On a personal side: I have had a life with broad experiences and much open-mindedness. I was raised in a complicated household, have lived in multiple countries, and have co-created a functional, multiracial family.

I heartily embrace the creativity of each person and their consensual choices.

I look forward to meeting you.

Getting Help

Getting "unstuck" in all areas of your life feels so freeing.

I offer therapy that typically helps:

  • reduce symptoms of stress and trauma within 4-7 sessions, though many clients choose to stay in therapy longer than this,

  • find strategies to address your burdens and dilemmas,

  • reduce automatic reactions so you can feel more proud of yourself and more at peace with others,

  • feel more connected to your interests, abilities and boundaries,

  • feel more able to reach your goals.

In therapy with me, we typically:

  • talk about whatever you want to talk about, though I may offer suggestions based on my experience and education,

  • we explore and practice a variety of tools and techniques that support you feeling better,

  • have 60-minute sessions that cost $200 per session (some sliding scale is available for a duration of therapy),

  • have in-person or virtual sessions on Monday-Thursday with evenings available.
